Notification Audit lists every retained alert email attempt, with records kept for 365 days. Sent means the email provider accepted the send request; Delivery shows the later provider outcome when available.
Open notification history
Open Notification Audit from the app navigation. Operations also shows the five most recent retained attempts under Recent notification activity in its status panel. Choose View notification audit there to open the history. See Retention and revocation for the retention policy.
You can inspect the history without editing notification policy. Attempts appear newest first. An empty history means no retained attempts match the current view. It does not confirm that delivery is configured correctly.
Find an attempt
Use From date, To date, Outcome, Notification type, Recipient class, Credential Type, and Application to narrow the history. The Application field searches recorded application names. Check the result rows for a specific recipient or credential. From date and To date include both selected UTC calendar dates. If nothing matches, choose Reset and widen the date range.
Share a filtered URL with someone who can access the same organization to keep your filter choices. The results can change as new attempts arrive and old records expire.
Interpret attempt outcomes
Sent means the email provider accepted the send request. It does not prove inbox delivery or that someone read the email. Pending means AppAlert has not recorded a final attempt outcome. Failed means the send attempt failed.
A skipped attempt did not send an email. The recorded reason may show no usable recipient, an empty digest, or a suppressed recipient. Use that reason to check recipients, alert eligibility, or delivery problems.
Interpret delivery outcomes
Delivery shows the latest verified provider outcome when available. Delivery to the recipient's mail server does not prove the message reached the inbox or was read.
A delayed message may still arrive. A soft bounce means a temporary delivery problem. A hard bounce means a permanent failure. Resolve complaints and suppression before trying to send again. A sent attempt can later show a bounce because provider acceptance and delivery are separate stages.
Investigate a missing notification
Start with Missing notifications to check whether an attempt is absent or delivery failed. Review alert settings and recipients for policy changes. Changing settings affects future processing. It does not change an earlier attempt's recorded outcome.
