Before you start
Sign in with the Microsoft work account for the organization you intend to connect. Each signed-in customer user has one linked organization. Keep the error message and the step where it appeared available when asking for help; do not send passwords, raw secrets, or private keys.
Administrator approval is still required
Admin consent required means sign-in succeeded but AppAlert has not verified the required organization-wide access. Signing in alone does not grant application inventory permissions.
If you are authorized to grant consent, choose Grant as administrator. Microsoft determines which accounts can consent to the requested permissions; check its administrator consent prerequisites. Review Permissions and data access before approving.
An administrator needs to approve the request
Choose Request admin approval when another person must approve access. This relies on your organization's Microsoft admin consent workflow. Ask your Microsoft administrator to confirm that the workflow is enabled and that the request reached the appropriate reviewer.
After approval, return to Operations and choose Check approval status. Read the returned status message. A request being submitted does not itself mean access has been approved or verified.
Approval succeeded but inventory is not ready
Connected. Sync in progress means the connection has progressed to initial inventory collection. You can leave the page and return; use Check status to revisit Operations. Follow the initial-sync instructions and then Missing or stale inventory if the expected records are still absent.
Access was revoked or a check failed
Read the displayed error and ask the organization's Microsoft administrator to verify AppAlert's current consent. Restore the required approval through Operations when prompted. Revoking Microsoft consent stops future reads but does not delete previously stored inventory; see Retention and revocation.
If the status remains unresolved, contact AppAlert support with the displayed error, approximate time, and whether sign-in, approval, or inventory collection failed. These details help distinguish the failing step without sharing credential values.
